To connect a domain to the service, you need to complete 3 steps.

1 Register a Domain

A domain is an internet address. It can be registered in any zone (for example, .ru, .com, or even .wedding, specifically for weddings). Domain registration services are provided by specialized services (domain registrars), such as REG.RU. The domain is registered in your name and will belong exclusively to you. The registration cost depends on the zone and the name.

A domain is registered for a minimum of one year. After a year, you can renew it or not. At any time, the domain can be used with other services. To connect the domain, a Premium+ subscription is required.

2 Make Necessary Settings

After registering the domain, you need to perform a series of settings on the registrar's side - where the domain was registered. You need to select the domain, then open "DNS Management" (or something similar), and add one record.
Record type - A
Record name - @
Record value - The IP address specified on the connection page.
TTL - as suggested.

This record means that this domain will point to the Printo.love server with the specified IP address. This way, you can link the domain with Printo.love. In some cases, the domain registrar automatically adds an A record with the name @, pointing to its own server. If this is the case, you can change the record by simply changing the IP address, or delete it and add a new one.

The domain should have one A record with the name @ and the specified value.

Moreover, sometimes the registrar offers to immediately connect a website (hosting) to the domain. It is necessary to decline. No other services from the registrar need to be connected or paid for.

If you need the wedding invitation to be displayed on a separate subdomain, you can specify the name of this subdomain instead of @, and add the subdomain with the domain at the first stage in Printo.love.

After adding the record with the registrar, in the "Wedding Website" section, you need to note that the record has been added. Once the domain becomes accessible, it will instantly connect to the account.

3 Wait for Connection

The entire connection process is automatic, but it takes time for the domain to become accessible from anywhere in the world. This usually occurs within 6-7 hours, but in rare cases up to 24 hours. If the invitation does not appear when accessing the domain address within a day, it means something is set up incorrectly.

Do I need to pay for hosting to the registrar?

No. There is no need to pay for any additional services – only domain registration.

What will happen to the domain after a year?

You will be able to decide how to use your wedding address on the internet. For example, it can be connected to any other service. Or use it for organizing the first anniversary.

What to do if the website still doesn't open?

Ensure that there is an A record added in the DNS settings with the corresponding name and value. If the website still doesn't open after 24 hours, contact technical support. If an SSL certificate creation error occurs, it means that multiple A-type DNS records with the name @ are added to the domain zone. Alternatively, hosting is connected to the domain by the registrar. You need to delete all unnecessary records and disconnect the hosting from the domain.
